It’s important to start with this: Regenerative Agriculture cannot be defined to one specific item, instead we ask, “What does Regenerative Agriculture aim to regenerate?” The Answer: The health, vitality, and evolutionary capability of whole living systems.
Horses & Sustainability
Horses play a big role in sustainability. They graze the land and regenerate the soil. Our horses walk over the ground and disturb the surface, naturally aerating the ground. They munch on the grass and allow regrowth for new photosynthesis, the plants gather more carbon from the air and back into the soil and earth.
The other gift the horses give us is creating manure and distributing it on the soil as fertilizer. By moving the horses to new pastures daily we are mimicking nature and sequestering carbon.
At MJ Habadashary, we have the perfect setting for your retiring horse. Already home to retired race horses, we focus on the care and needs of the leisurely life these hardworking horses deserve. With Molly's extensive background working on the horse tracks as a trainer, you'll feel confident that your horse is getting the love and attention they deserve! We have 15 acres that we rotate animals and crops over, and are constantly adjusting to find the best balance for the land. We grow food and Hemp, board horses, and sequester carbon to reverse global warming.
All the horses are giving supplements, treatments and individual feed as needed. Each horse has its own stall and fresh automatic waterers. The board fee is $500.00 per month and that includes all the services and feed.
Senior horses deserve a safe beautiful place to retire. We provide country retirement for your horse AND make it easy for you to visit as often as you like. Our location is a short 10-minute drive from St. Paul.
Bees are amazing. They pollinate our food and give us honey! The honey is a super food and a big part of our diet here on the farm. We started with beehives on the property five years ago and the results have been tremendous! Our produce have really taken off, especially the raspberries and apple harvests. Last year we added buckwheat, sunflowers and hemp to the rotation for the bees to have a variety of nectar to collect and enjoy!
One of the great benefits to having hemp next to the beehives is that the hemp plants flower later in the year than most flowers giving the bees more food at the end of the season. We are interested in creating Buckwheat CBD Honey in the next few years.
In 2021 we will have workshops and more information on keeping bees locally.
As a cover crop, hemp enhances soil health by shading out weeds—reducing the need for synthetic herbicides—and adding diversity to crop rotations, improving soil health. Hemp is also versatile in the market, with thousands of uses for its seed, oil, and fiber.
Molly's holistic journey with CBD started when her brother was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2017. When she learned about CBD and how it's legal and safe to use, she went to Colorado to learn more. There, she worked as a chef on an organic hemp farm in Fort Collins called Fat Pig Society. "I stayed there for a year to learn as much as possible before returning to Minnesota. Now with the help of my family, we are laying the groundwork to grow and create healthy CBD products right here in Oakdale, MN."
Because of Molly's focus and determination, MJ Habadashary was created with a strong purpose to heal the land and people. Having seen first hand how Medicinal CBD can ease the pain and cure those with severe illness, Molly focuses on the importance of quality and organic ingredients.
CBD or Cannabidiol is a chemical compound, found in the cannabis plant. CBD is a non-intoxicating component of the plant and is believed to have many therapeutic effects on the human body and mind. In fact, our bodies were built for cannabinoids. We have an entire endocannabinoid system for the purposes of regulating the body’s internal systems.
